Pawtucket, R.I. (AP) — Fans at two Pawtucket Red Sox ballgames this season won't be getting any peanuts or Cracker Jacks.

The team announced Thursday it will offer two peanut-free days this season at McCoy Stadium.

Team president Mike Tamburro tells WJAR-TV the games on May 24 and Aug. 3 will give fans with peanut allergies, especially children, a chance to enjoy the ballpark.

Tamburro says the environment will be totally peanut free. Each seat in the ballpark will be disinfected to ensure there is no peanut residue and no foods will be made using peanut oil.

The team says it will also have security guards at the gates to make sure nobody brings in their own peanuts.
