If you’ve followed the local real estate market over the past few years, you’ve noted that houses in New London County, listed for under $300,000 were hard to come by. When they came to market, they had many suitors, who sought to out-bid other buyers. The price point is particularly compelling for New London County.

The two-bedroom raised ranch at 3 Bloomingdale Road in Quaker Hill comes in at well under $300,000. The seller, who is represented by listing agent Gigi Giordano Taylor and Page Taft-Compass’s Essex brokerage, is asking $249,000 for the property.

Asked about the Quaker Hill location, Giordano Taylor explained that the property is close to the New London line, which allows for easy access to the local colleges and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. Shopping and day-to-day conveniences are nearby, and some of the area’s major employers—Electric Boat, Pfizer, L&M Hospital, the two major casinos and resorts—are all a quick commute away. Plus, Quaker Hill is just a few miles from some of Connecticut’s most beautiful beaches and state parks.
