Built in 2017, the two-bedroom ranch at 34 Looking Glass Circle in “Hillcrest”—a 55+ Sun Communities, Inc. property in Uncasville—is offered to the market for $289,900. Listing Realtor Nina Beebe, with RE/MAX On the Bay, notes that this is one of the newest homes in Hillcrest.

The house has a modest and manageable open-concept floor plan, with a total 1,496 square feet of living space. According to the listing agent, the home is clean, uncluttered and has been meticulously maintained by the owner. There are hardwood floors throughout the living spaces and kitchen, and easy-to-maintain tile in the baths.

The front door opens to the open-plan living and dining room. They open to the 12-by-10-foot kitchen, with cabinets and appliances finished in white.

The hub of the home, the kitchen has white cabinetry, lightly finished hardwood flooring, and white appliances. It opens to the adjacent dining and living areas, and sits steps away from a sunroom and backyard deck.

Bookending the living space in the floor plan are the two bedrooms, one at each end. One of the two bedrooms is a primary suite, with a walk-in closet and private bath. The ensuite bathroom is designed with double vanity sinks and a large linen closet. The second bedroom also has a walk-in closet, and both bedrooms have wall-to-wall carpeting for comfort.

And at the rear of the home, there’s a three-exposure sunroom that steps out to a 13-by-10-foot backyard deck. The laundry is positioned conveniently on the main level, just inside the attached two-car garage. The house also has a basement level for storage.

Throughout the open-plan living and dining areas, and in the kitchen, are hardwood floors. Carpeting makes the home’s two bedrooms cozy, and the two baths have tile flooring for easy-to-clean maintenance.

Though the owner is buying the house—the structure—the land on which it is sited is owned by the developer and leased to the homeowner. The monthly cost to lease the land on which this home sits is $614, Beebe disclosed.

“Every time I host an open house or am in the community, previous clients or people I have met there will always come by to say hello,” Beebe told Welcome Home. “Almost always they will stop to talk to folks at the open house and let them know how much they love it there.

A map of the 55+ community of Hillcrest in Uncasville shows yellow-marked walking paths that wind through the property, the catch-and-release fishing pond, and communal clubhouse.

“You can be as active as you want to be there,” she added. “There’s so much to do: groups, committees, activities, walking trails, pool gym, etcetera. It makes it a fun, active community.”

Among the amenities residents enjoy are a clubhouse, a heated indoor swimming pool, a fitness center, library, game room, bocce ball court, walking trails around the property, and a catch-and-release pond for fishing. Private showings are by appointment only.
