    Local roundup: East Lyme tops Fitch in boys’ soccer

    Groton – The East Lyme boys’ soccer team remained unbeaten in Eastern Connecticut Conference Division I play with a 4-0 win over Fitch on Thursday.

    Ian Cambridge scored twice and Robert Stoddard had a goal and an assist for the Vikings (7-3-2, 4-0). Diego Virgen scored a goal, Blake Biggs and Luke Salan had assists and Connor Piper and Ben Johnson combined for five saves for East Lyme. Nate Virtue made 11 saves for Fitch (2-9, 0-4).

    In other games:

    • Dante Guarnaccia had a goal and an assist as NFA beat Woodstock Academy 4-1 in an ECC Division I game. Rood Apolon and Sander LeSage also scored NFA (6-3-1, 3-1), which also received an own goal, and Louis Hawkins had an assist.

    H.S. field hockey

    • Caroline Dias scored 8:25 into overtime as Westbrook/Old Lyme beat Morgan 2-1 in a Shoreline Conference game. Alyssa Leandri scored a goal, Myan Nguyen had an assist and Abby Demers made two saves for Westbrook/Old Lyme (5-5-2, 3-5-2).

    • Waterford beat Woodstock Academy 2-0 in an ECC game. Senior captain Tess Briggs and freshman Sara Davidson scored for the Lancers (3-8, 3-5).

    • Gracie Lloyd had three goals and an assist as East Lyme rolled to a 7-0 win over NFA in the ECC on Wednesday night. Caroline Daugherity, Kate Erikson and Zofia Maziarz each added one goal and one assist for the Vikings (6-3-1, 6-2) while Ava Korenick scored a goal. NFA is 1-5-2, 1-4-1.

    H.S. volleyball

    • Killingly beat New London 3-0 in an ECC Division III match. Nalyce Dudley had 29 digs, 11 points and four kills, Carolina Lugo had 15 digs and eight points and Serenity Lancaster had 10 digs, eight points and two kills for New London (0-11, 0-3).

    • Norwich Tech defeated Cheney Tech 25-14, 25-15 and 25-22 in the Connecticut Technical Conference on Wednesday night. Kaylee Gray had 10 kills and two digs for the Warriors (8-5, 7-2) while Autumn Hanks added nine assists, four digs and three aces, and Abby Ulrich six kills, five digs and six aces.

    • Wheeler maintained its lead in the ECC Division IV standings with a 22-25, 25-16, 20-25, 26-24 and 15-12 win over Montville on Tuesday night. Michelle Macina had aces for the Lions (9-4, 4-0) while Addison Stanley added four kills and seven blocks and Bryn Anderson had four kills and two blocks. Reagan Buscetto had 16 Assists, eight kills and four digs for Montville (5-10, 2-2) while Zoie Farrar added 10 Kills and 12 Digs, and Grace Galvin and Alyna Ovalles had 10 digs apiece.

    College volleyball

    • No. 12 Wesleyan beat Connecticut College 3-0 in a New England Small College Athletic Conference match. Riley Lord had seven kills and 11 digs and Christina Leduc and Katherine Randall had six kills each for Conn (6-9, 1-7). Wesleyan (15-1, 7-0) won 25-13, 25-18, 25-16.

    H.S. girls’ soccer

    • New London lost to Windham 5-0 in an ECC Division III game on Wednesday night. Italia Salls made 10 saves for the Whalers (1-8, 0-4).

    Men’s soccer

    • Connecticut College defeated No. 13 Babson 3-0 on Wednesday night at Silfen Field. Elliot Spatz, Augie Djerdjaj and Gavin Vanden Berg each scored a goal for the Camels (6-3-2). Babson is 8-3-2.
