St. Joseph and Southington were ranked first and second, respectively, in the coaches’ poll at the end of the regular season. Both lost in the quarterfinals.

“I don’t think there’s a doubt,” Greenwich’s Charlie Dixon said when asked if he believed his team was No. 1. “We knew we were the best in in the state and I think we just proved it to everyone.”

Class L champion New Canaan was the highest-ranked team in poll prior to states (third).
