    H.S. lacrosse: Logel scores her 100th career goal as Bears beat Waterford girls in ECC Div. II

    Stonington — Sophomore Emma Logel scored five goals, including the 100th of her young career, as Stonington defeated Waterford 11-6 in a battle of Eastern Connecticut Conference Division II unbeaten girls’ lacrosse teams on Thursday night.

    The Bears (5-0, 3-0) led 4-3 at halftime before outscoring the Lancers 7-3 in the second half.

    Freshman Autumn Christian added three goals and three assists for Stonington while Emma Spathakis had one goal and one assist, and Nora Walsh and Lillian Loughlean each scored a goal.

    Marin Mahoney scored four goals for Waterford (5-1, 2-1) while Madison LaForte and Sadie Tiven added one goal apiece.

    In other games:

    Maddie McLeod had five goals and an assist as Ledyard remained unbeaten in ECC Division III with a 17-3 win over Griswold/Norwich Tech. Tatianna Irizarry added four goals for the Colonels (5-1, 3-0) while Jess English had two goals and two assists, Delaney Gortner and Helena Robinson had two goals apiece, Baileigh Johnson had one goal and one assist, Mackenzie Boyer scored a goal and goalie Lorelai England made six saves. Sienna Caron, Neiara Myrick and Emily Aviles each scored a goal for the Wolverines (2-4, 0-2).

    • Simsbury defeated Fitch 22-3 in a nonleague game. Beth Lovering scored two goals for the Falcons (1-5) while Sophia Clang added a goal, Sophie Kollar had two assists and Elaina Brookhart made six saves in goal.

    • Sophia Gouveia scored five goals to highlight Wheeler/Grasso Tech’s 7-5 win over St. Bernard in an ECC Division III game. Grace Casatta added two goals for the Lions while goalie Anna Barber made 18 saves. The Saints are 2-3, 1-2.

    • Alexis Antonellis had five goals and an assist to lead Old Lyme to a 13-0 win over Cromwell in the Shoreline Conference. Kelly Sheehan added three goals for the Wildcats (4-2, 3-1) while Sydney Goulding had a goal and three assists and Maya Lequire had a goal and an assist.

    • Lydia Doraz scored six goals as Hand beat NFA 15-4. Molly Page scored three goals for the Wildcats (1-4) and Alice Rourke scored once.

    • Rockville defeated New London 18-2. Kayla Ferryman and Keshvi Patel each scored a goal for the Whalers (0-2).

    • Dani Bruno had six goals and two assists as East Lyme remained unbeaten by edging two-time defending Class M state champion Guilford 10-9 on Wednesday night. Meg Nagle added two goals and an assist for the Vikings (5-0) while Lily Poletto and Summer Sistare added two assists apiece, Izzy Pazzaglia and Riddhi Venkatesh each scored a goal and goalie Gigi Franco made14 saves. Guilford is 5-2.

    Boys

    • Cam Elenteny had four goals and four assists to highlight Stonington’s 17-6 win over Waterford. Tyler Simao and Ethan Mahoney added four goals and two assists apiece for the unbeaten Bears (6-0) while Ben Massengale finished with three goals and two assists, Cooper Light had a goal and an assist and Will French won 21 of 25 face-offs. Johan Deon had two goals for the Lancers (4-2) while Jackson Huta had a goal and two assists and C.J. Landry had one goal and one assist.

    • East Lyme erupted for nine goals in the second quarter and cruised to a 19-8 ECC Division I win over NFA. Sawyer Tighe had a seven-point night (3 goals, 4 assists) for the Vikings (4-3, 4-0) while Jack Keating had five goals and one assist, Jack Campbell had three goals and two assists, Drew Sager had three goals and one assist, Gavin White score twice and Reagan Pierce had a goal and three assists. Logan Jenkins and Anthony Ballestrini score three goals apiece for NFA (2-3, 1-2).

    • Jack Holmes had three goals and two assists while Gavin Emmons scored four goals to highlight Bacon Academy’s 12-2 win over Ledyard/Griswold in an ECC Division II game. Ethan LoVetere added two goals and two assists for the Bobcats (5-2, 3-1) while Jameson Pirro, Matt Kennedy and Tanner Kundhal each scored once. Wyatt Crawford and Dylan Fryer scored for the Colonels (0-7, 0-2).

    • Mark Sauchuk had three goals and two assists as St. Bernard/Wheeler edged Montville 6-5 in overtime in and ECC Division II match. Benjamin Howes added three goals and an assist for the Saints (3-2, 2-1) while Chris Baukus scored twice for Montville (0-4, 0-3), Jayden Sherwood had a goal and three assists and Luis Salas Montalvo had one goal and one assist.
