    H.S. baseball roundup: Dreyfus, Stawski lead East Lyme to victory

    East Lyme — Alex Dreyfus drove in four runs and Joe Stawski pitched six strong innings for the win as East Lyme beat Ledyard 9-1 in a high school baseball game on Friday afternoon.

    Stawski allowed one hit and a run with eight strikeouts and six walks. Quinn Killoy singled, doubled and drove in two runs and John Bureau scored three runs for the Vikings (10-2). Eamonn Pelletier drove in the run for Ledyard (1-11).

    In other games:

    • Grady Lacourciere pitched six strong innings as Old Lyme beat Valley Regional 5-1 in a Shoreline Conference game. Lacourciere allowed one run and three hits with four strikeouts. Santiago Rodriguez and Casey Hurtgen (two RBI) had two hits each for Old Lyme (9-3, 8-3). Braeden Sparaco had three hits, including a home run, for Valley.

    • Matt Shampine went the distance for the win as Waterford beat Westerly 4-2. Shampine pitched a seven-hitter with eight strikeouts. Anthony Jessuck was 2-for-3 with an RBI double, Quinn Speller was 2-for-3 with an RBI, Harley Mish had two hits, Matt Reilly had an RBI double and Matt Ory drove in a run for the Lancers (6-5).

    • Norwich Free Academy beat Bacon Academy 13-3. NFA scored nine runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to end the game on a mercy rule. Logan Deshefy, who got the win in relief, had two hits and drove in two runs for NFA (7-5). Chris Southworth and Connor Doyle drove in two runs each for NFA. James Gumbs was 3-for-4 for Bacon (5-6).

    • Martin Light pitched a three-hitter with 14 strikeouts as St. Bernard beat Griswold 5-1. Colin O’Leary and Luca Muscarella had two hits and an RBI each for the Saints (10-1) and Zion Fraser doubled in his season debut. Kade Rubino had two hits, including a double, for Griswold (5-7).

    • Fitch lost to Woodstock 5-1. Dylan Meyer drove in the run and Donte Valentine scored for Fitch (4-6). Vinny Morabito pitched three scoreless innings in relief for the Falcons.
