    H.S. track & field roundup: Waterford girls get past New London 70-67

    Waterford ‒ Colleen Corman won the 300 hurdles and was on two winning relays teams as Waterford edged New London 70-67 in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Division II girls’ meet on Wednesday.

    Elle Dibuono, Erica Mugovero, Avery Maiese, Ava Lee and Sarah Davidson won events for the Lancers (2-2, 2-2). Ava Tucker, Sarah Conti, Dibuono, Lee, Mugovero and Maiese were also on winning relay teams.

    Kmara Royster and Adrianna Benjamin won two events each for the Whalers (3-3, 1-3). Royster won the 100 hurdles (16.1) and high jump (4-10) and Benjamin won the shot put (31-9) and discus (81-11). Darielys Arnold, Nalyce Dudley, Leilani Robinson and Tatiana Pemberton also won events for New London and Royster, Pemberton, Robinson and Arnold won the 4x100.

    • Megan Braga won three events as Bacon Academy beat Stonington 117-28 in an ECC Division II meet. Braga won the 100 (13.2), 100 hurdles (16.9) and 300 hurdles (52.4). Alyssa Blanchette and Jessica Willow-Harris won two events each for Bacon. Blanchette took the 200 (27.4) and shot put (28-4.5) and Willow-Harris won the high jump (4-4) and pole vault (6-6).

    Saniyah Otero, Avery Anderson, Isabella Falkowski, Natalie Chesnes and Leah Hochholzer also won events for the Bobcats (5-2, 3-1). Marin Singletary of Stonington (2-5, 0-4) won the long jump (13-11) and triple jump (29-10) and teammate Addison Labbe won the 800.

    • East Lyme picked up a pair of wins on Tuesday, beating Enfield 123-17 and host Tolland 93-56. Lauren Hinckley and Lacey-Lee Keramidas were double-winners for the Vikings (5-1). Hinckley won the 100 (13.07) and triple jump (35-03) and Keramidas won the pole vault (9-0) and shot put (31-0).

    Sarina McCollum, Kennedy Holsapple, Nikhita Bolineni and Jayla Washington also won events for East Lyme, which swept the three relays behind Sydney Arustei, Neva Flickinger, Ava Pitruzzello, Hinckley, Emily Sevigny, McCollum, Rachel Quadrato, Hannah Bergeron, Caroline Daugherty, Holsapple and Kayleigh Jensen.

    Boys

    • Jake Martino won four events as Bacon Academy beat Stonington 106-44 in an ECC Division II meet. Martino won the 110 hurdles (16.1), shot put (44-4), javelin (135-4) and discus (140-7). Aaron Fidrych and Ryan Moores won two events each for the Bobcats. Fidrych took the 200 (23.9) and 400 (53.15) and Moores won the 800 (2:08.4) and 1600 (4:48).

    Douglas Howard, Tristian Kruse and Weston Dzwonchyk also won events for Bacon (6-1, 3-1). Brady deCastro, Andres Dahl, Josh Mooney and Dylan Bowes won events for the Bears (4-3, 1-3).

    • Evan Piotrowski, Elliot Childs and Jon Booth won two events each as Waterford beat New London 111-39 in an ECC Division II meet. Piotrowski won the 100 (11.5) and 200 (22.4), Childs took the 110 hurdles (15.3) and 300 hurdles (41.3) and Booth won the long jump (20-3) and triple jump (40-0). Brodie Scott, Titus Olson, Boden Fagan, Gaudencio Gatchalian, Rhys Tickner and Jay Zimmermann also won events for the Lancers (2-2, 2-2) and Donovan Bousquet, Gabriel Lombardi, Luke Bartlett and Jeffrey Chin were on winning relay teams.

    Nicholas Churis, Kyle Parkes and Jack Philistin won events for New London (0-6, 0-4) and Kenya Snell, Parkes, Zuri Craig and Jorge Gonzales Garcia won the 4x100 relay.

    • East Lyme remained unbeaten with a pair of wins on Tuesday, beating Enfield 101-48 and host Tolland 79-71. Matt Leone and Thomas Matlock won two events each for the Vikings (6-0). Leone won the 110 hurdles (16.58) and 300 hurdles (42.63) and Matlock took the shot put (53.09) and discus (143.04). East Lyme’s Shawn Henning won the pole vault and teammates Mason Hintze, Jack Jensen, Jilali Benjdid and Maddox Grillo-Smith won the 4x400 relay.
