    Local roundup: Fitch co-op beats Ledyard/St. Bernard in ECC girls’ swimming opener

    Ledyard — Sophia Pacheco, Audrey Schrage, Jai-Lynn Wheeler and Elliott Singer each won an event and were on winning relays teams as the Fitch-co-op beat Ledyard/St. Bernard 118-52 in an Eastern Connecticut Conference girls’ swimming meet on Friday that opened the season for both teams.

    Jai-Lynn Wheeler, Kaitlyn Kumpf, Ashlyn Dunn and Jill Arcilla also won events for the Falcons who swept the three relays behind Haley Singer (two wins), Sahara Blackwolf, Juliana DeMarco, Sian Crespo, Alead Alla, Lauren Bullock and Anna Orphanides.

    H.S. field hockey

    • Izzy Ash scored three goals as Fitch opened its season with a 5-0 win over Chariho (R.I.). Sammi Knauer and Ada Ellis also scored and Esme Carlebach made four saves for the Falcons.

    College volleyball

    • Coast Guard swept Connecticut College 25-14, 25-20, 25-23. Kaela France had 26 digs, Maeve Duffin had 41 assists and Sophia Galdamez had 11 kills for Coast Guard. Riley Lord led Conn with 10 kills and seven digs, Natasha Shrivastava had 23 assists and Taylor Merrifield had 14 digs.

    H.S. boys’ soccer

    • AJ Montejano and Brendan Osso had a goal and an assist each as East Lyme beat Waterford 5-0 in their annual ALS Cup game on Thursday night. Max Montejano, Finnian Gates and Luke Salan scored goals and Ryan Novick, Tristan Seguin and Ryan Wargo had assists for the Vikings. Waterford goalies Ben Dubicki (six) and Justin Gray combined for nine saves.

    H.S. girls’ soccer

    • Sadie Daniewicz scored three goals as NFA beat Hamden 7-1 on Thursday night. Chloe Green scored twice, Jordan Fabry and Brooke Bolles had a goal and an assist each, Ava Boenig made 11 saves and Leah Burchman and Alex Tabilas had assists for the Wildcats.

    • Lilah Hart scored two goals as East Lyme opened its season with a 7-0 win over Ellington on Thursday night. Elise Jorgensen, Lacey Lee Keramidas, Riddhi Venkatesh, Lilly Antonino and Kaylee Knapp also scored for the Vikings.

    H.S. volleyball

    • Evelina Klyukin had 14 kills and 30 digs as NFA beat Bacon Academy 25-20, 25-16, 23-25, 25-13 on Thursday. Stella Hogan had 24 digs and nine kills and Faustine Canales Arrieta had 16 assists and 21 digs for NFA.
