    H.S. roundup: Vikings edge previously unbeaten Canton in non-league girls’ soccer match

    East Lyme — East Lyme handed Canton its first loss of the season with a 1-0 non-league girls’ soccer victory over the Warriors on Monday at Dick North Field.

    Lilah Hart, assisted by Riddhi Venkatesh, scored the game’s only goal in the 15th minute for the Vikings (9-3-1), while goalie Morgan Dube made seven saves to earn the shutout.

    Canton (8-1) held a 9-4 edge in shots.

    In other games:

    • Sydney Cook scored three goals as Montville built a 5-0 halftime lead and cruised to a 7-0 win over Tourtellotte. Allie Kondash added a goal and an assist for the Wolves (5-5-1) while Nicole Hudson, Alexa Tufares and Avery Bouchey each scored a goal, Jada Cheung, Bella Estelle, Karissa Hochdorfer, Madison O’Donnell and Peyton Cook each had an assist and goalie Katie Myjak made seven saves.

    • Alanah Maranzano converted a corner kick from Helena Robinson with just a minute remaining as Ledyard earned a 2-2 non-league draw with Cromwell. Maggie Dykes, assisted by Teagan Caviness, scored in the first half for the Colonels (2-7-1) and goalie Maddie McLeod made 10 saves.

    • Stonington picked up goals from four different players during a 4-2 victory over St. Bernard. Adilyn Risley, Maya Terwilliger, Isabela deCastro and Gianna Terranova each scored for the Bears (4-6-2), who held a 15-4 edge in shorts, and Sofia Regan added two assists. Rebecca Baritnik and Angelica Tompkins each scored for the Saints (6-3).

    • Leah Costa scored twice to highlight Woodstock Academy’s 4-0 win over Fitch. Jayda Johnson made 14 saves in goal for the Falcons (0-12).

    Boys’ soccer

    • Goals by Ethan Went and Ben Burdick lifted Cromwell to a 2-1 victory over Old Lyme in the Shoreline Conference. Colman Curtiss-Reardon scored an unassisted goal for the Wildcats (3-7, 3-6) and goalie Oliver Wyman made 13 saves.

    Volleyball

    • East Lyme ran its winning streak to seven with a 25-12, 25-14 and 25-14 victory over Norwich Free Academy in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Division I game. Skylar Bell had 20 digs for the Vikings (11-2, 3-1) while Finnley Wilson added 15 kills, Addison Soleau had seven kills and Mia Williamson finished with six aces. Fautstine Canales Arrieta had nine assists for the Wildcats (9-6, 1-3) while Savannah Guernsey finished with five assists, six digs and two kills and Ginger Weston had 11 digs and one kill.
