    High school roundup: Montville girls’ soccer wins in OT

    Plainfield — Nicole Hudson's overtime goal off an assist from Sydney Cook helped No. 6 Montville upset No. 3 Plainfield 2-1 Saturday in an Eastern Connecticut Conference girls' soccer Division II quarterfinal game.

    Neveah Dailey had given the Panthers a 1-0 lead going into halftime, but Allie Kondash converted a penalty kick for the Wolves (7-8-2) to tie the game in the second half.

    Katie Myjak had four saves for Montville, which will play No. 2 Wheeler at 3:30 p.m. Monday in North Stonington.

    • Angelica Tompkins scored the only goal of the game, assisted by Chloe Brayman, to help No. 5 St. Bernard beat No. 4 Windham 1-0 in an ECC Division II quarterfinal game. The Saints (8-7-2) will play at top-seeded Lyman Memorial at either 6:30 p.m. or 7 p.m. Monday.

    • Summer Antonino opened the scoring in the first half and No. 3 East Lyme beat No. 6 Killingly 4-0 in the ECC Divison I quarterfinals. East Lyme goes on to play at No. 2 Norwich Free Academy in the semifinals at 6 p.m. Monday. Kaylee Knapp, Riddhi Venkatesh and Emma Stoddard had second-half goals for the Vikings (12-4-1).

    • No. 4 Bacon Academy lost to No. 5 Woodstock Academy 1-0 at Lyman Memorial in an ECC Division I quarterfinal. The Bobcats fell to 11-5-1. Freshman Elise Coyle scored, assisted by Kendall McCormack, and Rebecca Nazer recorded eight saves for the Centaurs, who will play at No. 1 Waterford at 6 p.m. Monday.

    Boys' soccer

    • Kelvin Diaz earned his second shutout of the season in No. 3 New London's 9-0 win over No. 6 Plainfield in an ECC Division II quarterfinal game. Niko Churis (assist) and Jorge Almendarez each scored three goals, while Erlin Almendarez, Stouvenly Dortelus and Schneider Casalas also scored. Yovany Duenas Sanchez and Bryan Galiano contributed two assists apiece. The Whalers (12-5) will play at No. 2 St. Bernard on Tuesday.

    • Jon Anderson had eight saves for No. 4 Wheeler in a 2-0 loss to No. 5 Killingly in an ECC Division II quarterfinal game. The Lions are 10-7.

    • Freshman Brayden Michonski scored twice for No. 4 Waterford and Ian Rush added a goal as the Lancers topped No. 5 Stonington 3-0 in the ECC Division I quarterfinals. Ben Dubicki recorded his eighth shutout of the year for Waterford (11-6), who will play at top-seeded East Lyme in Tuesday’s semifinals at a time to be determined. Stonington is 9-8.

    • Louis Hawkins had two goals as third-seeded NFA beat No. 6 Windham 3-1 in the ECC Division I quarterfinals. NFA will play at No. 2 Ledyard in the semifinals Tuesday at a time to be announced. Erick Portillo also scored for the Wildcats (10-6-1) and Jhon Lopez Choc had an assist.

    Football

    • AJ Adamick had 280 yards and five touchdowns for Ledyard in a 43-7 victory over Bacon Academy in ECC Division II. Jamel Kearse Jr. also had an 85-yard touchdown in the victory for Ledyard (3-4, 3-3). Bacon is 3-4, 2-4.

    Field hockey

    • Alyssa Leandri scored two goals and teammates Lotta Kuenning (assist), Meg Bache, Brooke Ouellette and Anne Marie Hinkley also scored a goal to lead Westbrook/Lyme-Old Lyme to a 6-1 win over the Somers/Rockville co-op. Grace Vincent had five saves in the win.

    • Ada Ellis and Izzy Ash each scored two goals for Fitch in a 4-0 nonconference win over Morgan. Esme Carlebach had three saves to earn the shutout for the Falcons (10-6).

    Volleyball

    • Abby Butremovic recorded 59 digs and added four kills to help Wheeler defeat host Killingly 3-2. Game scores were 25-12, 25-23, 11-25, 22-25 and 15-13. Addison Stanley (nine kills, six blocks) and Allison Needham (15 assists, 14 digs) also helped the Lions (9-11).
