Local roundup: St. Thomas More basketball remains unbeaten

Montville — St. Thomas More remained unbeaten with a 109-59 win over West Point Prep in a men’s basketball game on Thursday.

Cincinnati-bound Tyler Betsey led the Chancellors (5-0) with 21 points and every player on the STM team scored.

In other games:

• Anna Maria beat Mitchell 84-77. Jaylyn Clardy scored 30 points to lead Mitchell (0-5). Brandon Lee had 15 points and 11 rebounds and Dontae Pollard had 14 points and nine rebounds for the Mariners.

Men’s soccer

• Connecticut College senior forward Matt Scoffone was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-America team.

Scoffone was a third-team pick. He led the Camels in scoring with 20 points on a team-high nine goals and two assists. In his career he has 35 points on 15 goals and five assists, and will return to Conn next fall for his final season of eligibility.
