The state’s Super Senior Player of the Year award has been given out for the last two years. And Bill Hermanson is the only person to win the award.

East Lyme’s Hermanson, a member of the Connecticut Golf Hall of Fame, won the award on Monday, it was announced by the Connecticut State Golf Association.

Hermanson, 67, had another strong summer. It was highlighted by a Siderowf Division victory at the Tournament of Champions at Bull’s Bridge Golf Club in New Milford. A super senior is a golfer age 65 older.

“It is certainly an honor to win Super Senior Player of the Year,” said Hermanson in a release. “There are a bunch of good super senior players throughout the state. I guess we are all getting up there in age and have been around for a while but longevity is important in this game and it is still satisfying to win a tournament or an award like this.”

Hermanson has won four CSGA Player of the Year honors, the first coming in 1991.
