    Local roundup: Hanes wins it for Old Lyme in a walkoff

    Old Lyme — Jordan Hanes hit a two-run single to win the game as Old Lyme rallied to beat Hale-Ray 9-8 in a Shoreline Conference baseball game on Monday.

    The Wildcats trailed 8-6 entering the bottom of the seventh inning and got within a run when Rowan Meisner singled in a run before Hanes’ game-winner.

    Jack Porter had two hits and drove in three runs and Grady Lacourciere, Ben Frazier, Meisner and Hanes had two hits each for Old Lyme (3-1, 3-0). Freshman Aidan Carepntino got the win in relief.

    In other games:

    • Dominic Pontbriant pitched a complete game with 10 strikeouts as Lyman Memorial beat Ledyard 5-0. Jeremiah Bobbi was 3-for-4 with two RBI and Isaac Cone walked four times and scored twice for the Bulldogs (2-1). Ledyard is 0-3.

    • Grasso Tech beat Norwich Tech 2-1 in a Connecticut Technical Conference game. PJ Evans pitched a seven-hitter for win, striking out five with no walks. Jace Oddo and Jerry Santiago scored runs for the Eagles (2-2). Antonio Durand and Collin Schulze had two hits each for Norwich Tech (0-2).

    • Fitch lost to South Kingstown (R.I.) 5-4. Trace Morales had three hits, including a home run, and Pat Lindy also had three hits for the Falcons (1-1).

    H.S. softball

    • Stonington beat Lyman Memorial 18-5 in five innings. Cami Brown had three hits, scored twice and drove in three runs, Chloe Miner scored three runs and Shelby Mayo drove in two runs and scored twice for the Bears (3-0). Lena-Marie Byers had two hits and scored twice for Lyman (0-2).

    • Emma Bayor pitched a four-hitter with 14 strikeouts and hit a two-run homer as Old Lyme beat Hale-Ray 2-1 in a Shoreline Conference game. Bayor’s homer came in the bottom of the sixth inning. Ava Roth singled and scored for the Wildcats (3-0, 3-0).

    H.S. girls’ lacrosse

    • Sydney Goulding had five goals and two assists as Old Lyme beat Stonington 10-5. Ella Curtiss Reardon scored three goals, Avra Montazella made eight saves, Alexis Antonellis had two goals and two assists and Maya Lequire, Allie Krol and Anna Bussman had assists for the Wildcats (2-0). Shay Burnside scored three goals for Stonington (2-2).

    Boys’ lacrosse

    • Brendan Li had four goals and an assist as Williams School beat Bancroft 12-2. Henry Champagne had two goals and an assist, Finn McCann and Tyler Gagliardi each scored twice, Marc Macera had a goal and an assist and Dylan Polidori scored for the Blues (3-0).

    • Ledyard/Griswold lost to Law 8-3. Brian Johnson scored twice, Khal Campbell had a goal and Jackson Robert and Nick Faveloro had assists for the Colonels (0-3).

    H.S. girls’ golf

    • NFA opened its season with a 212-249 win over Killingly. NFA’s Caroline Goderre was the medalist with a 44 and teammate Erin O'Farrell shot a 50.
