    Niantic Bay Playhouse ends its year with a production of ‘A Christmas Carol’

    Niantic Bay Playhouse wraps up its inaugural year with that holiday classic, “A Christmas Carol.”

    The long-running East Lyme Regional Theater took over the space on Main Street where Niantic Cinema had been until its closing at the end of 2022. The newly christened (and renovated) Niantic Bay Playhouse has been presenting a range of shows in this space during 2023: “Annie Jr.,” “Murder on the Orient Express,” “The Addams Family Musical,” “Steel Magnolias.,” and now “A Christmas Carol.”

    Erin Sousa Stanley directs this tale of redemption adapted from the Charles Dickens novel by Ryan Bird. The production stars Christie Williams as Scrooge, Chris Currier as Bob Cratchit, and Brasil Demars as Tiny Tim. The Ghosts are: Armen Kevorkian as Christmas Past, Nick Kasprazak as Present, and Glenn Anderson as Future.
