Norwich man among new members of Last Green Valley board

Five new members have been appointed to serve on The Last Green Valley's board of directors, the organization announced this week.

The new members are: Myra Ambrogi of Plainfield; Alix McNitt of Sturbridge; Brad Cheney of Woodstock; Donna Baron of Lebanon; Mike Nelson of Norwich; and Brian Wells of Mansfield. Bill Jobbagy of Coventry was chosen to fill an unexpired one-year term.

Officers for the next year are: Brad Cheney of Woodstock, chairman; Jason Vincent, vice chairman; Ambrogi, secretary; and Tom Dufresne, treasurer.

The group held its annual meeting June 6. During the meeting, Chief Ranger Bill Reid reported that Last Green Valley volunteers had donated 869 hours at fairs, festivals, the annual bald eagle survey and other events in the past year.

Also, members of 15 organizations donated their time at clean-ups of walks, trails and riverways in the 35-town region, removing 11 tons of trash, Reid said. The water quality monitoring program conducted seven different monitoring projects.
