Fire causes delay on Connecticut Metro-North line

Milford (AP) — The Metro-North line from Stratford to New Haven is blacked out after a transformer fire, causing delays for commuters.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority says early Friday that the fire happened overnight between Stratford and Milford stations.

Passengers are being shuttled between New Haven, Milford and Stratford on diesel trains.

Repair crews are working on a fix.

The Metro-North Hudson line in New York was suspended Thursday because a freight train hauling garbage derailed in New York City.
