Body found in Connecticut River during search for NY man

Essex (AP) — Divers have found a body in the Connecticut River near where police were searching for a New York man who went missing while visiting a weekend lobster festival in Essex.

A state police dive team recovered the body Monday morning. It was not immediately identified as 29-year-old Richard Cianflone of Valhalla, N.Y., but police called off the search for him shortly after the body was recovered.

Cianflone was last seen at about 11 p.m. Saturday at the Griswold Inn. Friends tell police he was in Essex to attend the annual Lobster Feast on Saturday.

Police say an investigation found a signal from Cianflone's cellphone just off the shore in Essex.
