R.I. man killed in I-95 rollover crash in Westbrook
A Rhode Island man died Saturday morning after his vehicle went airborne off Interstate 95 in Westbrook, according to the Connecticut State Police.
Police said that Ross Fielding, a 35-year-old from East Greenwich, R.I., was driving on I-95 northbound in Westbrook when his vehicle went off the roadway, struck the Exit 65 sign in the space between the highway and exit ramp, and went airborne, before landing overturned on the Exit 65 northbound off-ramp.
Fielding was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:58 a.m. According to state troopers, the collision occurred about 4:09 a.m.
The Connecticut State Police said the accident is still under investigation.LLC.
