AG: Correction officer faces harassment charge for sending ‘suspicious’ email to warden

A state Department of Correction officer was arrested on a harassment charge earlier this week for allegedly sending a suspicious email to the warden of a Suffield prison and the Connecticut Office of the Attorney General.

Tweh Sunday Torbor, 55, of Vernon faces one count of second-degree harassment after admitting to troopers he sent an email Sunday that prompted a police investigation, according to Connecticut State Police.

The specifics of the email have not been released, as state police have only said it was “suspicious.” The email went to the warden of the MacDougall-Walker Correctional Institution in Suffield and the Attorney General’s office.

State police identified Torbor as a correction officer, though it was not immediately clear if he has ties to MacDougall-Walker.

A spokesperson for the Attorney General said Thursday the office had no comment.

A DOC spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Torbor was released without having to post bond following his arrest, state police said. He is scheduled to appear in Hartford Superior Court on Friday.
