More than a dozen cats abandoned over the weekend

More than a dozen cats were abandoned in Stratford over the weekend.

The animals were left in crates on River Road, where animal control officers took custody of them before the heavy rains fell, according to Stratford Animal Control. A total of 15 cats were abandoned, animal control said.

Stratford Animal Control said officers are hoping to raise $3,000 to help pay for veterinary care for the abandoned cats. They are also looking for information on who abandoned them.
