    Pedestrian rescued after being trapped under vehicle following crash

    A pedestrian was rescued from under a car after being struck by a vehicle in Hartford Tuesday night.

    The crash was reported at about 10:05 p.m. in the area of 690 Wethersfield Ave. where first responders were dispatched on the report of a motor vehicle collision involving someone who was struck by a car and became trapped underneath, according to the Hartford Fire Department.

    Fire officials said civilians and members of the Hartford Police Department lifted the vehicle using a hydraulic car jack before an officer removed the pedestrian from underneath it. The victim, who was conscious and breathing, was treated at the scene by firefighters and medics before being taken to Hartford Hospital, according to fire officials.

    The extent of the victim’s injuries was not immediately clear on Wednesday, officials said.

    Hartford police are investigating the accident.
