Colchester firefighters put out truck fire, no injuries reported
Colchester firefighters quickly extinguished a truck fire Saturday morning on Farmwood Drive, fire officials said. No injuries were reported and no other damage to property was reported, according to officials.
"It was a pickup truck fire in a park in a driveway. It didn't damage to the house. Nobody was hurt," said Colchester Fire Marshal Sean Schoemaker, adding the cause of the fire is under investigation.
He added the car owners "didn't even know (their car) was burning."
Around 11 a.m. on Saturday, members from the Colchester Fire Department were dispatched to Farmwood Drive for a vehicle fire in a driveway with exposures, according to a statement on social media.
Engine Tank 228 was first to arrive and confirm the fire with exposures to other vehicles and a house. They stretched a line to start the initial attack. Minutes later, Engine Tank 128 with additional personnel arrived and tied into ET228 to provide additional water, the statement said.
Tanker 128 arrived moments later and prepared in case additional water was needed. The fire was knocked out quickly, preventing spread.
