Cromwell police seek suspect in gas station robbery who fled on bicycle
Cromwell — Police are searching for a suspect they say held up a gas station Thursday night, claiming he was armed, and then fled on a bicycle.
Cromwell officers were called to the Gulf Gas Station on West Street around 11 p.m. after a reported armed robbery, the department said in a news release.
The suspect entered the station and "threatened a firearm" and demanded cash from the register, police said.
"The suspect left on a red BMX style bicycle," the release said.
Surveillance stills released by Cromwell police showed a man dressed in a red-and-black baseball cap, gray sweater and plaid pants.
In one of the surveillance photos, he was seen riding what appeared to be a red bicycle.
