Outage forces UConn to cancel Monday classes in Storrs

STORRS (AP) — A power outage Monday forced the University of Connecticut to cancel classes for the day at its main campus in Storrs, university officials said.

Electricity was restored to campus buildings by Monday afternoon, but repairs were still being done to damaged electrical infrastructure. Class schedules were expected to return to normal on Tuesday.

The outage was traced to a problem with an underground power line, officials said.

UConn's regional campuses in Hartford, Stamford, Waterbury and Avery Point were not affected by the outage, university officials said. The law school and medical school were also unaffected.
