    UConn's Dolson, Mosqueda-Lewis named to All-America team

    New Orleans — A pair of UConn starters, junior Stefanie Dolson and sophomore Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis, were selected to the 2012-13 Women’s Basketball Coaches Association All-America team Saturday.

    The 10-player group was introduced at the New Orleans Arena on the eve of the NCAA Final Four, where the Huskies will face Notre Dame at approximately 9 p.m. Louisville plays California in the first game of the semifinals at 6:30.

    Dolson, a 6-foot-5 center, and Mosqueda-Lewis, a 6-foot guard, were the 16th and 17th UConn players to make the prestigious team. It also marked the eighth time the Huskies had multiple players make the team.

    Both players were also first-team All-Big East selections and first-team picks on the United States Basketball Writers Assocation All-America team released earlier in the week.

    Mosqueda-Lewis leads the Huskies in scoring (17.7) and is second in rebounds (6.3). She leas the nation in 3-point shooting (48.9 percent) and has 112 3-pointers, a single-season school record.

    Dolson is UConn’s leading rebounder (7.2) and is second in scoring (13.8). She is third in the country in field goal percentage (59.2) and has 51 blocked shorts.

    Also making the WBCA All-American team were Delaware senior guard/forward Elena Delle Donne, Notre Dame senior guard Skylar Diggins, Duke junior guard Chelsea Grey, Baylor senior center Brittney Griner, Notre Dame junior guard Kayla McBride, Stanford junior forward Chiney Ogwumike, Baylor junior guard Odyssey Sims and Maryland junior forward Alyssa Thomas.
