    Eastern Connecticut Symphony Concert - November 20th

    Soloist, Mikhail Ovrutsky, Violin

    The Eastern Connecticut Symphony concert series continues on Saturday, November 20, 2010, at 8 PM at the Garde Arts Series. The performance conducted by ECSO Music Director, Toshiyuki (Toshi) Shimada, features guest artist, Mikhail Ovrutsky, playing Sibelius Violin Concerto in D minor. The other works on the program are: Schnittke’s Ritual; Van de Vate’s Gemma Jawa (Echoes of Java); and Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8. A pre-concert lecture will be given at 7 PM by ECSO Concertmaster, Stephan Tieszen. Tickets to this concert, sponsored by the Town of Groton, the City of New London, and The Mohegan Sun, are available and priced from $27-54, with special discounts in selected seating areas for seniors and students. Student rush tickets are sold the night of the performance at the box office.
