Hebron Harvest Fair Announces Addition of Juried Show

Adam Miclette, President of the Hebron Lions Club and John Johnson Jr., Superintendent of the Hebron Harvest Fair announced today plans for the 1st Annual Juried Arts and Craft Show and Sale at this year’s fair, Thursday through Sunday, September 8-11, 2011.

The show, which will feature only handmade items, will run all four days of the fair in a large tent. In addition to the sale of juried hand crafted products, there will be hands on demonstrations inside and outside of the show area. The Lions are committed to developing an Artisan and Craft Show and Sale event to showcase the work of talented artisans. Although the Lions are advertising this fair to attract top artisans from all around the country, they are hopeful that artisans in the local, state and New England area will welcome this venue as a site for selling their handmade work. The Lions hope to establish this as an annual event and as an excellent venue for exhibitors in the local area. If the response warrants, the Lions plan to hold two shows per year.

Artisan and Craft Show Committee Chairs, Carol Roffey and Arlene Snyder are actively seeking artisans for this juried event. The committee is also looking for artisans that would like to demonstrate their craft during the show including wood turners, fabric artists, weavers, quilters, carvers, potters, sculptors, painters, jewelry makers and glass artisans. Exhbitors in the show will be able to submit a piece of their handmade work to be juried for Best In Show or 1st to 5th place awards. Cash awards and ribbons will be awarded to winners.

Fair Superintendent Johnson, said that the Hebron Lions take pride in their 41 year history of running a family oriented fair. Every year considerable time is spent evaluating the previous fairs and developing new and interesting features and entertainment for the whole family. In recent years, the Lions have developed the Family Edutainment Area, brought in new features such as Doc Dogs, the Monster Truck and BMX Shows. This year, the Lions are expanding the Edutainment Area and bringing in an old time lumberjack show. The ever popular New York Tractor Pullers Association will return to the Fair this year.

Johnson described the fair as “a great venue for a quality show and sale of this nature. The Hebron Harvest Fair is one of the largest attended fairs in the state. It is oriented to family entertainment. It has plenty of parking, a great mix of activities and events and food for all. It is our intent to put on a first class show that will attract the best artisans in their class and customers to see and purchase the best available hand made products around.”

Artisans and Craftspeople interested in exhibiting at this show can find Show Rules and Applications at http://hebronharvestfair.org/pages/JuriedArtsandCraftsShow.html . Exhibitors that submit applications with their pictures and/or DVDs for juring by April 1st 2011, will receive a discounted rate for space and/or consignment.
