Joseph and Susan Perkins of Niantic recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married in the Niantic Baptist Church on Sept, 28, 1964.

A party at the Mohegan Sun Casino was hosted by their son, Todd and his wife, Linda. Their younger son, Gary, resides in Groton, and grandchildren, Lane and Quinn Perkins reside in Norwich.

Susan is retired while Joe is acting commissioner of Veterans Affairs for the State of Connecticut.

They plan to continue the celebration in the spring with a two week cruise to the Caribbean.
