UConn suffered two more recruiting losses Saturday when prime targets Doron Lamb and Josh Selby picked other programs.
Lamb is headed to Kentucky and Selby is going to Kansas. Both players made their announcements during the Jordan Brand Classic at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Both players listed UConn among their finalists but neither was expected to pick the Huskies.
It's been a tough recruiting week for the Huskies who also saw highly-regarded point guard Brandon Knight chose Kentucky Wednesday on the first day of the spring signing period.
Now the Huskies wait for 6-7 power forward C.J. Leslie of Word of God Christian Academy (Raleigh, N.C.) and 6-3 guard Corey Joseph of Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.) to make a decision.
The Huskies need to avoid a shutout.
Competition is stiff for both players. Leslie also is considering Kentucky, N.C. State and Florida. Joseph also is looking at UNLV, Texas and Villanova.
There is some good news: incoming recruit Roscoe Smith, a 6-7 wing from Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Va., was one of the elite players selected to play in the Jordan Brand Classic.
ESPN2 carried the game, or at least what loosely resembled a game. It was almost unwatchable.
