Riverside Park is not for sale. Not today. Not ever. Take it if you must, but first try to weigh other options.

To date, none of the projected uses of the land by the Coast Guard Academy, such as a professional development facility, cultural facility or prep school, are directly related to the education or training of undergraduate cadets. Thus, there is no compelling reason for these potential new uses to be within the footprint of the academy. They are no different than the existing Coast Guard child development center that is located outside the academy.

Frankly, the Fort Trumbull area makes more sense for these facilities as there are currently other Coast Guard commands stationed there.

By the way, we deeply appreciate all that the Coast Guard and the cadet corps do on a regular basis to improve the lives of local residents and the education of our children.
