Scarecrows Marching on Madison

Tina Newman puts the finishing touches on her friendly scarecrow as the Madison Chamber of Commerce kicked off its first annual community scarecrow display in downtown Madison last week. At least 60 people registered their scarecrows in advance, paying $25 for a prime spot on the strip, a fee that will be donated to the Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation. Voting is underway at participating downtown shops and closes on Saturday, Oct. 23. The winner will be announced at an upcoming party on Thursday, Oct. 28.
