Branford Police Incident Report for Nov. 8

The Sound publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in Branford and North Branford. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content. Monday, Nov. 8Police correspondent Jason J. Marchi compiles the Police Incident Report.

    • At 1:15 a.m. Branford police helped New Haven police identify and capture a 20 year-old New Haven man and a 22 year-old East Haven man following an armed robbery that occurred after midnight at a convenience store located at 25 Townsend Avenue in New Haven. Officer Sean Rubano spotted the suspects acting suspiciously while driving in Branford and stopped the suspect vehicle on Main Street with the help of other officers. The men—who were indentified after the viewing of the store’s video surveillance system—were detained by Branford Police officers. Police also recognized the New Haven man from a motor vehicle stop that occurred in Branford just over a week earlier at about the same time in the morning. This provided officers with a possible vehicle description as well, aiding in their capture. The men were turned over to the New Haven Police Department for processing.

    • A 60 year-old woman of Little Bay Lane was issued a citation at 10:05 a.m. for allowing a dog to roam.
