Groton— Submarine Group Two offered 54 midshipmen the opportunity to experience life aboard submarines during this year’s midshipman training program, which concluded Sept. 8.
This summer the visiting midshipmen from the U.S. Naval Academy and various Reserve Officer Training Corps units went underway on the USS Providence (SSN 719), USS Hartford (SSN 768), USS Toledo (SSN 769), USS Pittsburgh (SSN 720), USS New Mexico (SSN 779), USS Alexandria (SSN 757) and USS Annapolis (SSN 760).
“The program gave these midshipmen a chance to get out of their classrooms and experience life on board a submarine,” said Lt. Cmdr. Todd Keene, the midshipmen area coordinator for Groton.
The reader web chat with Mitchell Etess, Chief Executive Officer of the Mohegan Gaming Authority, was held on Thursday, May 24.
