What are the major issues for your town? TAXES - Keep them at present level or lower.
JOBS - Entice new employers into the area. Expand present businesses.
EDUCATION - Put the Groton School System on a par
or better than that of East Lyme's School System or
comprable School Systems.
DUPLICATION IN LOCAL GOVT. - End the duplication of Groton's Govt
thru natural attrition.
What makes you the best candidate for this office? Probably not the best, but maybe in the top 3.
Because: I am not running for re-election. We need a whole new slate of Town Council People, as the existing Town Council should & must be replaced.
What was the last book you read, and what did you think of it? THE GREATER JOURNEY by David McCullough. Non-Fiction - about the adventuorous American artists, writers, doctors, artists, architects who went to Paris in the years between 1830 & 1900. Great book, gives a great deal of insight into America & France at this time in hidtory.
All of his history books are outstanding. He wrote: TRUMAN, JOHN ADAMS,JOHNSTOWN FLOOD. Books about the Brooklyn Bridge, the Panaama Canal, 1776, & Teddy Roosevelt. I have read them all & they are all great.
