Upset in Old Lyme: Reemsnyder in; Griswold out

Old Lyme — It took four times, but Bonnie Reemsnyder, an incumbent Democrat selectman, handily beat longtime incumbent Timothy Griswold, to become first selectman Tuesday.

The unofficial vote was 1,412 for Reemsnyder to 1,178 for Griswold, a Republican.

As the low vote-getter among four selectmen candidates, Griswold, in fact, failed to be re-elected to the board of selectmen.

Democrat Mary Jo Nosal, also a Democrat, was the second highest vote-getter, winning 1,336, according to unofficial results, while Republican incumbent Arthur Sibley pulled 1,224 votes.
