Groton – A local man riding was killed Saturday night when his motorcycle struck an SUV.
Timothy R. Comfort, 48, of 5 Burningtree Drive, was traveling northbound on Interstate 95 in the area of exit 86 at 10:34 p.m. when state police said his motorcycle veered into the right lane, striking a Jeep Cherokee driven by Mandy Crispum, of 104 Michigan Drive.
Comfort was thrown from his motorcycle after both drivers swerved to the left after the initial collision, causing Comfort's motorcycle to hit the left side guard rail. He was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Police said he was not wearing a helmet.
Police said that Crispum, 33, and her passenger, Alexandre Crispum, 39, of the same address, were taken to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital after complaining of pain to the right knee and pain to the back and neck, respectively. The case is under investigation.
