Montville holds cornerstone ceremony for new public safety building

Led by a bagpiper, a procession of Scouts, public safety personnel and Masonic groups march into a cornerstone-laying ceremony at the new Montville Public Safety building Sunday. As part of the ceremony, members of community groups and organizations were given the chance to include mementos in a time capsule to be sealed into the cornerstone. The $6.5 million building will be more than 17,000 square feet and directly across the street from the state prison. The building will include space for the Resident State Trooper, police and regional dispatch services and a community/civic room that will be used in part for training police officers.
