The Charles W. Morgan on canvas

Over the past few years, the whaling ship Charles W. Morgan, docked at Mystic Seaport, has undergone massive restoration. Twenty-four artists from the Dalvero Academy have produced works commemorating and capturing various stages in the ship's renovation. The collection, called "Restoring a Past, Charting a Future: An Artistic Discovery of America's Whaling Legacy by Dalvero Academy," runs through Sept. 9, 2013, on the second floor of the Seaport's Stillman Building. Artists worked in a variety of mediums including ink, watercolor, pastel, charcoal, sculpture, photography and embroidery. Hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily.
