New London's outstanding fire and police departments should be commended for sharing Juneteenth with Kenté Cultural Center. The patience of Officer Brisson-Lopez and the firefighters to answer questions and show the vehicles makes a positive impact on the community. I am ecstatic that my great-grandson was able to discover at five years old what some older boys discover while riding in a police car. "The back seat is not comfy." The presence of these public servants not only provides good role models, but establishes a rapport of trust within the community.
