Sun will face the Liberty in WNBA playoffs

The New York Liberty lost Thursday night, yet qualified as the fourth and final seed in the WNBA Eastern Conference playoffs and will face the Connecticut Sun in next week's first round.

New York was beaten by the Tulsa Shock, 78-66. It earned the fourth seed, however, because the Chicago Sky lost at home to the two-time defending conference champion Atlanta Dream, 75-66.

Connecticut and New York will likely begin its best-of-three series either next Thursday at Mohegan Sun Arena. The Sun won four of the five meetings between the teams this season.
