Maynard, Madonna to debate for 18th District state Senate seat

Stonington — Three-term Democratic incumbent Andrew Maynard of Stonington and Republican challenger Theresa Madonna of Griswold will participate in the second of their four debates for the 18th District state Senate seat on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Stonington Community Center.

The debate will be moderated by Stonington First Selectman Ed Haberek. The pair have already debated in Griswold. A third debate sponsored by the League of Women Voters is scheduled for Oct. 30 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Groton Public Library. Details are being worked out for a fourth debate in Plainfield.

The 18th District is comprised of Griswold, Groton, North Stonington, Plainfield, Preston, Sterling, Stonington and Voluntown.
