New London Parks Conservancy to rededicate the VFW War Memorial

New London — The New London Parks Conservancy will rededicate the VFW War Memorial at 11 a.m. on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, in Williams Park at Broad and Williams streets.
The conservancy restored the memorial and secured funding for 15 park benches. A new viewing box at the park’s entrance describes the park’s early beginnings and the people who were major figures in its founding in 1858.
The event will include members of the city’s government, as well as New London Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps and their marching band. The public is invited.
