DMV to end extension on expired licenses
Wethersfield - The Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles is ending its extension on expiration dates for driver's licenses, registrations and vehicle emissions tests. The extensions were given because many DMV offices were closed after Hurricane Sandy.
The extensions will end at the close of business Monday for people whose licenses, registrations and emissions compliance expired after Oct. 29.
A late fee of $10 is charged five days after a vehicle's registration has expired. The late fee for an expired license is $25 immediately after the expiration date. The late fee for emissions tests is $20 after 30 days past the expiration date.
