    Blame violence on video games

In regards to the horrific tragedy that occurred December 14 in Newtown, I feel compelled to write this letter. My heart goes out to all the victims of that town so devastated by so much loss and sorrow.

We hear about gun control all the time and how guns affect our lives, but no one ever mentions the extremely violent video games that are part of our culture today.

People of all ages, children also, play these games that show graphic images of violent killing, degradation and mutilation. Imagine how these images can influence a person with a mental deficiency who might have difficulty separating reality from fantasy or right from wrong.

It's not the gun laws that have to be reformed, it's the abundance of violent video games and computer programs our society is subjected to.

Put some of the blame where it belongs.
