Pistons 103, Celtics 88

Rookie Andre Drummond, the former UConn star, had 16 points and seven rebounds, and Detroit returned from Europe with a victory over Boston Sunday night.

The Pistons lost to the New York Knicks in London on Thursday, but they didn't look particularly weary in their first game back. Detroit blew an 18-point second-quarter lead before pulling away again in the second half. Boston never led.

Drummond went 5 of 6 from the field, repeatedly slipping free for dunks. He also made 6 of 8 free throws after entering the game shooting 39 percent from the line.

Kevin Garnett scored 16 points for Boston, and Rajon Rondo had eight points, 15 assists, nine rebounds and nine turnovers.

The Celtics wiped out an 18-point second-quarter lead before the first half even ended, but Detroit lead 52-48 after scoring the last four points before the break. It was a one-point game in the third before Brandon Knight and Tayshaun Prince made 3-pointers for the Pistons to make it 61-54.

Detroit led 70-58 before an 8-0 run by Boston. Drummond snapped that with a one-handed dunk on an alley-oop from fellow big man Greg Monroe. It was 81-71 after three.

Drummond's dunk on an alley-oop from Bynum made it 89-73, and Boston's earlier strategy - fouling Drummond to put him on the line - had already been foiled by the rookie's rare free throw accuracy.

Monroe, Knight and Will Bynum scored 15 points apiece for Detroit. Courtney Lee had 16 for Boston, and Jeff Green added 15.

Celtics guard Avery Bradley was back after missing a game with a rib injury, but he scored only six points.

The Pistons arrived back from overseas around midday Friday, but they didn't look particularly weary at the start of this one. Detroit scored the game's first seven points and then went on a 9-0 run at the beginning of the second quarter to take a 36-18 lead.

Boston responded immediately, scoring the game's next 10 points, including a steal and dunk by Paul Pierce and two 3-pointers by Lee. Twice, the Pistons turned the ball over near their own free throw line after defensive rebounds, leading to easy baskets for the Celtics.

Boston finally tied it at 48.

Raptors 108, Lakers 103

Landry Fields had a season-high 18 points and 10 rebounds as Raptors sent Los Angeles to its fifth straight road loss.

Kobe Bryant scored 26 points and Pau Gasol had 25 for the Lakers, whose road skid is their longest in six years. Dwight Howard was ejected after drawing his second technical foul with 1:18 left in the first half.

Jose Calderon had 22 points and nine assists while Ed Davis had 18 points and eight rebounds for Toronto. Alan Anderson added 14 points and eight assists as the Raptors ended a four-game losing streak against the Lakers.

Bryant made 10 of 32 shots, including 3 of 12 on 3-pointers. Steve Nash scored 16 points and Earl Clark had 14 points and 14 rebounds for Los Angeles. The poor-shooting Lakers trailed by 15 points midway through the first quarter.

Howard got his first technical for arguing after a missed jump shot with 4:43 left in the first quarter. The star center was tossed after he and Anderson were called on a double technical when they got tangled up after a free throw. Howard finished with five points in 17 minutes.

Consecutive 3-pointers by Kyle Lowry and layups by Terrence Ross and Anderson gave Toronto a 95-76 lead with 7:29 left, forcing the Lakers to call timeout.

Los Angeles responded with a 3 by Nash and, after a layup by Fields, a pair of 3-pointers by Bryant and a layup by Antawn Jamison made it 97-87 with 5:22 remaining.

Bryant hit a 3 with 1:35 left, cutting it to 103-97, but Amir Johnson rebounded Anderson's miss and scored a layup to make it an eight-point game with 1:02 left.

Mavericks 111, Magic 105

Shawn Marion had 20 points, and O.J. Mayo and Vince Carter scored 15 apiece as Dallas fought off a late Orlando surge.

The Mavericks led by 13 in the fourth quarter, before the Magic pulled within a basket in the final minute.

Dallas earned its seventh straight road victory in its series against Orlando. The Mavericks now have five days off before hosting division-leader San Antonio on Friday. Glen Davis led Orlando with 24 points, followed by Jameer Nelson with 20 and J. J. Redick's 18.

The Magic have lost three of their last four games and also fell for the seventh straight time to an opponent with a sub-.500 record.

Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said Dirk Nowitzki, who played in his 15th game following offseason knee surgery, may need until February to get back to full strength.
