Shoreline Roller Derby is done hibernating and it?s time to Slam into Spring! Shoreline?s season opener will be April 27th at Galaxy Roller Rink. Come watch Shoreline?s travel teams? bout new foes. The Salty Broads will face Providence Roller Derby?s Killah Bees, then the BellaDonnas will clash with Strong Island Derby Revolution from Smithtown, NY. You?ll see new skaters, new uniforms and all the derby fun you?ve come to expect.

Both bouts promise to be action-packed competition. This is the first time any of these teams have formally bouted eachother and no one is going down without a fight!

Slam into Spring will also help Waterford Country School kick off the Color Me Blue campaign. May is Foster Care Awareness Month and SLRD is honored to spread awareness of this issue affecting 4000 kids in Connecticut. Waterford Country School provides a safe environment for children in crisis and helps families create a secure and self-sufficient home environment. Wear blue to the bout to show support for their cause.

Doors open at 5, first bout at 6, second bout at 8:30. Adult beverages, cupcakes and more, kids 10 and under get in free with a paid adult. With intermission entertainment by sadplant and an afterparty at Christophers Café in Groton, you don?t want to miss our 2013 home debut.
