Hair Cuttery opens in Norwichtown Commons

Norwich – Hair Cuttery, the latest business in the newly renovated Norwichtown Commons, celebrated its grand opening Monday with a $500 donation to the Greater Norwich Anti-Bullying Coalition for the 10th anniversary of its Bully Busters program.

"As we continue to expand throughout New England, we are excited to be opening our newest salon in Norwich," said Dennis Ratner, founder and CEO of Hair Cuttery. "Norwich is a wonderful community, and we are thrilled to be providing jobs and services to people in the Norwich area."

Hair Cuttery salons support local charities and community causes through cut-a-thons and donations. For the past 12 years, Hair Cuttery has sponsored "Share a Haircut," a campaign aimed at giving free back-to-school haircuts to children in need. Through partnerships with local social service agencies, Hair Cuttery has donated more than 700,000 haircuts since 1999.

Mayor Peter Nystrom, who participated in the grand opening, said Hair Cuttery staff and contacted his office about different charitable organizations in town and chose the Bully Busters program for the initial donation.
