Griswold woman killed in Rhode Island collision

Foster, R.I. (AP) — A 38-year-old Connecticut woman was killed in a crash in Rhode Island that sent two vehicles across highway traffic and into the grass.

Rhode Island State Police say Tracy Guy of Griswold was driving a Ford Focus east on Danielson Pike in Foster Thursday afternoon when a Buick Regal hit the passenger side of her car at the intersection with Foster Center Road. The impact of the crash caused both vehicles to be propelled across the westbound lane of Danielson Pike before they stopped in the grass on the opposite side of the highway.

Guy was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Buick's driver, 19-year-old Will Girard of Foster, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with injuries that weren't life-threatening.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
