New London - The Retired Armed Forces Association Club has planned several upcoming events.
The club, at 135 Garfield Ave., will hold monthly breakfasts starting on July 6 and every first Saturday of the month from then on, from 9 a.m. to noon. The menu includes eggs cooked to order, pancakes, sausage, bacon, home fries, biscuits, sausage, gravy, toast and coffee for $6 per person. The breakfasts are open to the public.
RAFA meetings for members are held at 4 p.m., the second Tuesday of every month and meetings for associate members are held at 1 p.m., the first Sunday of the month. Bingo is held at 7 p.m. every Thursday and the public is welcome.

Groton - Eighty-six sailors of "Class 13300," USS Maine (SSBN-741), graduated from Basic Enlisted Submarine School on Friday, June 28.
Logistics Specialist Third Class David McLeod was the class honorman. Logistics Specialist Third Class Alexander Ridgway was meritoriously advanced. Seaman Recruit Alexander Pratt, the class leader, received the Submarine Heritage Award and Construction Electrician Second Class Josue Pelton received the Navy Core Values Award.
Ridgway, Seaman Apprentice Matthew Kerkenbush, Seaman Apprentice Justin Rivera, Fireman Recruit Justin Teal, Seaman Jesus Carrasco, Fireman Recruit Darion Willis, Yeoman Third Class David Bendis, Seaman Alexander Carter, Seaman Recruit Jeffrey Lawson, Seaman Jose Riverabarbosa, Seaman William Prebis, Seaman Donald Truman, Seaman Apprentice Donald Boyd, Seaman Recruit William Abshure, Seaman Steven Cardamone, Logistics Specialist Second Class Joseph Donahue, Seaman Daniel Tolentino and Seaman Travis Hodo were named graduates with distinction.
